Apple iPad gets delayed globally

Apple has announced that its latest product, the highly sought after iPad, will miss its European and and global launch by a full month – with it finally rolling out in May.
Though there was and has been a lot of skeptics towards the iPad Apple managed to sell over 500,000 units within its first week, which suggests with this latest announcement that that demand has been too high for Apple to handle. The company said that it’s also trying to handle a huge number of preorders for the 3G iPad models, which are also supposed to reach the hands of U.S. customers by the end of this month.
On this, a spokesperson for Apple said “Faced with this surprisingly strong U.S. demand, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of iPad by one month, until the end of May,” said Apple. “We will announce international pricing and begin taking online preorders on Monday, May 10.”
