Apple iPad 3G UK release date confirmed
The UK version of Apple’s website has revealed that the iPad 3G, seen last week at the Apple private 27th January event, is set to be released in the UK in April 2010. The iPads should land in the UK at the end March, and is a litle bit of a surprise as Apple said that international data plans could not be confirmed – and expected to reveal a UK release date in June / July. What this means then, is that the data coverage plan must have been signed off for much sooner than Apple anticipated.
As for who will be supplying the 3G coverage we do not know – however expect Vodafone, o2 and Orange to be the main carriers > as they are all the main carriers for the iPhone. As for the non 3G version of the iPad, expect that to be on mass sale in Currys, PC World, Comet and all other good electronic appliance stores.
So who here is planning on buying one then?

I’m gonna get one! As soon as it comes to the UK
Why would you ever need one? For a start, how will you hold it? Where will it go?, will you wipe the smudges off all the time? Will you look at it whilst it is on its stand, with its plug in keyboard and think ‘well better than a laptop’? Will you use the 999,000 of useless apps? Are you seriously going to hold a piece of huge metal and glass and start tilting it as if it is a Nintendo Wii?The answer to all of them, are NO. And ‘Dunno’.Do some research, the product is a failure and a piece of viral marketing, aimed at distracting people from the Nexus One. I hate propaganda and silly people who seem to think anything that bears the Apple logo is good, sure it is innovative, but a concept not made or desgned by Apple. Besides, the whole thing looks like my digital photo frame I bought 4 years ago.
Looks more like a giant iPhone or iPod touch to me. More like the iPod touch because there’s no giant speaker at the top.
I’ve never understood tablet computers. Aren’t notebooks and laptops better? Does Apple really have to have a hand in all technology? Their OS was shite until about ten years ago, when OS X came out. They crashed sporadically, and had virtually no RAM or hard drive space.I’m not going to get one. Like the Mac Air, it’s pretty useless if you know anything about computers in general.
I completely agree jamie. Pointless, but Google’s tablet should be better! multi tasking for a start
