Snugg iPad 2 leather case and flip stand

I personally love my leather cases and the Snugg iPad 2 leather case and flip stand is a prime example of a decent choice. We have actually written a review on this case as I own one, so can testify upfront towards its stellar build quality as well as fit and finish.
The case makes use of magnets to make sure it opens and closes evenly, and it also includes an elastic hand strap perfect for Facetime, video calling etc. RRP around £30 or $40.
Cygnett SecondSkin Ink for iPad 2
People on the lookout for cases will always come across silicone ones which are the best for shock protection should you ever drop your device. The Cygnett SecondSkin is moulded to protect your iPad 2 from bumps and scratches without adding bulk, and also features a patterned hexagonal pattren on the rear.
Fom experience we also recommend getting either an Invisible Shield or similar skin to protect your iPad 2 from any grit or sand like material which manages to find its way under the case. RRP £19.99.
Marware MicroShell Folio for iPad 2
Just got yourself an official Apple Smart Cover? Then hard luck, because the Marware Microshell is an improved version of that product. So why is it better? Well in terms of aesthetics you would be hard pressed to tell a difference from the front however the rear of the case is in actual fact hard shell, giving your iPad 2 100% protection.
Just like the Smartcover the Microshell can be folded in to a stand and also provides full front and back protection against scratches and minor impacts. The case itelf has a rubberized texture for added grip.
RRP £29.99.

Hard Candy StreetSkin For iPad 2
The Hard Candy StreetSkin for iPad 2 is quite simply the MOST rugged case one can buy at the moment. To sum up the user of this case you would have to look within the construction industry, because the Streetskin features a whopping 3mm of shock absorbing TPU rubber at the corners and edges.
The design of the product itself is not for everybody, however it will certainly appeal to people whom indeed work in a field where protecting their work is of the utmost importance.
RRP £34.99.
Griffin Survivor Case for iPad 2
The Griffin Survivor case for the iPad 2 is being marketed as the toughest case Griffin have ever made, and they claim that it can even withstand a drop from 6 feet in the air. Tough claims, huh?
The case itself can apparently withstand Duststorms, rainstorms and large drops and has been tested and certified to meet or exceed US Department of Defense Standard 810F and UK Department of Defense Standard 00-35.
RRP £54.99
There are a whole range of other brand spanking new cases out there for you to protect your iPad 2 with. Our personal favourites are ones which are a folio case (like the Marware Microshell) as they are most practical for what we (or I) do. Good luck with your new case!

I got a black leather SmartCover for the iPad 2 in California the other day, looks sweet, interested in Otterbox though.

I have an original iPad but I love the look of the Hard Candy Street Skin. For me cases should protect the WHOLE device not just the screen.
@Davex
Thanks for the feedback there matey. Have you checked out any of the Otterbox cases for the original iPad?
The Marware Microshell iPad 2 case is the best imo. Back protection is simply a must.
The iPad 2 has got to be one of my least favorite Apple upgrades of all time. A better processor and dual cameras? No thanks.
Oh Wooman you never seize to amaze me, I would have thought the iPad 2 was right up your street pal!
TBH if you are going to buy an iPad 2 then you better get a case, I dropped my iPhone 4 and it smashed to pieces.
Otterbox is, and always has been, the way to go. The new iPad 2 case is in final production.
My original iPad in the Defender series survived two drops of over 10 feet with nary a problem. Not having any internal moving parts helped a lot, but the case protected all external and structural elements perfectly.
@JNim
Thanks. Yep Otterbox make great cases as evidenced through my iPhone 4 defender. I primarily use it for outdoor acitivities (I’m a known rock climber) and although i’d never state it would survive a +1000 foot drop, it could handle much more than any other case would!
The SmartCase by Apple is a good concept but fails to give the iPad 2 full protection. The rate in which apple brings new models out i want to make sure my device is in tip top condition to be able to sell on when i replace it. Having purchased the SELECTPRO case on Amazon uk i can safely save my iPad 2 is now fully protected. It also utilizes the same feature in the iPad 2 as the SmartCase, the auto wake and sleep sensor. Be nice to see you guys at technologyblogged give this case a review, not sure if posting links is allowed so just head over to Amazon uk and type in SELECTPRO iPad 2 case and take a look, happy blogging

A little bummed out. I have to be honest. I ordered the
cover because it looked cool. But that coolness wears off, when the fallacy of
protection and false assurance kicks in.
Protection is limited to cosmetic scuffs and annoying fingerprints. But not drops. Not sure that the cover is any
better, much less smarter. It does not offer much in protection. I was
skeptical about the cover to begin with. Nevertheless, if your looking to
protect your investment with a simple cover, we run the risk of inflicting some
damage from a simple accident. I had to reassess my needs after a near fatal
drop with the cover. I ordered a few days ago a leather Mivizu iPad 2 case
called the Sense, and I also ordered an Otterbox hardshell.
Best, the Mivizu folio is affordable priced at $26.99 against apple’s not smart price of $69.99.
Try Snugg cases on Amazon. Strong, and look good!
Thanks!
Please do not buy this is a con, they will never supply
Who what where and why?
