iPad 2 SD Card slot doesn’t exist, claims ‘insider’

We never for one minute thought that the iPad 2 would ship with an SD Card slot, what with Android and Windows Phone 7 being dual booted on to a HTC HD2 last week via an SD Card, and our scepticism has paid off because an Apple insider has claimed that it does not exist and it is infact a sim card slot.

The source says that the SIM slot is being moved to the top of the iPad from its current position on the left-hand side of the device. This apparently explains why some other cases which have been spotted don’t have the opening, as Wi-Fi only models won’t need it (obviously).
SD support is perhaps the biggest bone of contention when it comes to the iPad 2. If Apple were to include it, it would make uploading to the device easier, although it could compromise the simple lines of the sleek device, and void it to multi hacking internationally.
