iPhone 5 to get 4 inch display, verified through leaked parts?
![]()
Well look what we have here! 9 to 5 mac have recently received a very nice image of a supposedly next gen iPhone 5 part, revealing for the first time ever that the iPhone 5 could come shipping with a 4 inch edge-to-edge display, trumping the current 3.5 inch display of the iPhone 4.
A key thing to note with the image above is that unsurprisingly the part shows that the height and width of the iPhone 5 part is near identical to the iPhone 4′s front fascia, and this would lead us to presume that Apple will be keeping the form factor of their next gen smartphones inline with their current generation (i.e. thin and pocketable!).
Another thing to keep an eye on is that this image shows that the supposedly legit iPhone 5 part has a home button, where as news reports have recently stated that Apple will be doing away with this hardware button very soon, and possibly as soon as the iPhone 5′s launch.
Smartphones displays have been increasingly getting better for over 3 years now with the likes of the Retina Display and SAMOLED, so Apple going 4 inch would put the iPhone in line with current mobile phones trends.
