Apple US now taking pre-orders for unlocked iPhone 4S handsets
For anybody over in the US who wants to bag themselves a SIM-free iPhone 4S, Apple is now taking pre-orders for them at $649 for the 16GB model, $749 for the 32GB option or $849 for the 64GB model. According to Apple’s website, estimated shipping times for the SIM-free handsets are one to two weeks.
Before you do go ahead and place your order though, you’ll need to take in to account that the unlocked iPhone 4S is only available on GSM networks, leaving current Sprint and Verizon micro-sim users in the dark. This is despite Apple’s iPhone 4S being heralded as a world phone, and supporting CDMA networks such as Sprint and Verizon.
The new SIM-free iPhone 4S adds to the already vast catalogue of hugely popular consumer products from the Cupertino based company, such as Apple TV, the Mac, the iPod Touch and the iPad.
