New iPhone 5 screen protectors indicate elongated home button

Oh my oh my. To follow on from the fairly large number of rumours we have covered surrounding Apple and the iPhone 5, we have another one to throw in to the pile, but this time with the hard evidence of images. What you are looking at above are supposed legitimate screen protectors for the iPhone 5, which show off a cut out for a elongated home button and also a wider design. Towards the top of the screen protector you’ll also find a cut out for the speaker, which is a perfect fit for the current iPhone 4. But what does this mean? Well, this could very well mean that Apple may be preparing the next generation iPhone to ship with a capacitive gesture home button, allowing one to swipe through home screens without having to smudge up the display. One other thing this could mean is that Apple may use the elongated home button to simply allow for call controls, such as tap the left for answer or right to put down. Either way, it looks interesting, however we’re not totally sold on the elongated look.
