New iPod Touch 4th Gen: More leaked images

The iPod Touch 4th Gen is coming

Although not hyped about as much as the iPhone, the iPod touch continuously goes through future speculation immediately when their is a new one on the way. And this September, Apple should release the iPod Touch 4th Gen in to the wild. So as a tribute, or rather more hype for your buck, heres another leaked image about upcoming features.

The leaked snapshot above of the LED screen clearly shows room for a front facing camera –which if true would be the same as the iPhone 4′s – and is there, probably, for Facetime. In terms of visual design, the iPod Touch looks to be the same as the older 3rd generation, possibly still sporting the scratch prone smudge loving chrome back. Other angles of the panel show it was made on 29 April this year, while it also has an Apple copyright stamp. However, the photos don’t shed any light on whether the touch will definately come with a camera, as was planned for the 2009 edition.

So what about a rear Camera? Well Apple probably won’t include this in to the iPod Touch – although it would be a good idea in business terms, as to take share from the Flip Mino HD – because the only thing that would then seperate it from it’s bigger brother is the ‘phone’.

As for speed, unless Apple has completely changed strategy the iPod touch 4th generation features should closely mirror the iPhone 4′s features, so for example the current iPod touch has essentially the same guts as the iPhone 3GS. We’d expect the iPhone 4′s faster processor and increased RAM to make it across to the iPod.
