We all love tablet computers, especially ones which are super portable. Unlike 10-inch tablet computers, sub 8-inch tablets are pocket-able, light (er) and just as good at consuming content on the move. There are currently three main sub 8-inch tablet options available for you to buy in the name of the Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD and iPad Mini, but which makes the most compelling case for your cash? Chances are, your buying decision may very well come down to how big each tablet computer actually is, which is why we have created a handy size comparison for you to look at above, with all three tablet computers in exact size in correlation to one another.

As you can see the iPad Mini is by far the widest tablet of the trio. This means it is not as back pocket friendly as the Google Nexus 7, however it is slimmer in width than the Kindle Fire HD. The iPad Mini is also taller than its main competitors, however that is for a very good reason; it has a bigger display, at 7.9-inches versus the 7.0-inches on the Kindle Fire KD and Nexus 7. The thinness award goes to the iPad Mini though, at 7.2mm thin, but this doesn’t so much as help any folks’ out there who carry their tablet in a pocket, unless they are incredibly obese in which case you’ll be just fine.

Anyway, you can see the image for yourselves. Don’t say we never treat you guys ; – ).

I agree on “tablet portability” which is why I prefer sub-8 inch tabs. I think the Nexus 7 has the highest score in portability among the three because of its grippy back. It’s also something refreshing for those who are fed up with “shiny” gadgets. Also, the iPad Mini is wide for my hand so I can’t choose it. Nexus 7 indeed!

Hi Dante I really agree. For me, a 7-inch tablet is a perfect form for travelling. The extra real-esate on the display of the iPad Mini whilst offering more info on a screen is a drawback to me for the portability reason.
