As most of you are already aware Steve Jobs has officially resigned as Apple CEO. Although he has not yet retired it’s quite shocking news nonetheless. Not only did this news rattle the entire tech industry it made headlines worldwide. He is Chairman of Apple now, and as I just mentioned hasn’t retired, but with news like this it still triggers a reaction that urges us all to reflect.

You can say whatever you’d like about Apple, but on an individual level Steve Jobs is easily one of the most passionate, intelligent, charismatic, driven and inspirational people this world has ever seen and probably ever will see. Over the years his extraordinary vision and incredible leadership abilities have revolutionized the way we do things on so many different levels. When you think of the name Steve Jobs several words come to mind such as innovation, passion, persistence and forward thinking just to name a few.

Jobs and his legacy, which of course is not over, is truly one of a kind. Every now and then someone comes along who completely reshapes our world. In a lot of cases this results in such rare people being labeled as crazy, troublemakers, enigmatic, rebels, you name it. You can agree or disagree with such people’s views, praise them or vilify them, but at the end of the day you can’t help but be effected by the tremendous impacts they have on society and our day to day lives. What some people refer to as crazy, others refer to as pure genius. It’s just the way it is and goes with the territory for someone with such status.

Keep in mind this article is not aimed to sound like a biography, I simply feel a desire to take the time to briefly reflect on the man with one of the most extraordinary minds and work ethics of all time. You can pre-order the authorized hardcover Steve Jobs Biography which is scheduled to be released this November if that’s something you’re looking for.

The role Steve Jobs has played in regards to the creation and advancement of computer technology is iconic to say the least. He co-founded Apple back in 1976 and who can forget his memorable keynote speech in 1984 when he unveiled the first ever Macintosh computer, truly one of histories greatest moments. Who would have thought at that very moment that Apple would go on to become the dominant and innovative force that is is today. To be honest, I don’t even think Steve Jobs could have possibly fathomed where things would end up leading to from that point in time.

Of course a lot of talented, creative and outside of the box type thinkers deserve credit for what Apple has now become, but Steve Jobs will always be the one who started it all or got the ball rolling so to say.

This recent breaking news is not a farewell, simply Steve Jobs making a personal and objective decision to step down from Apple CEO to become Chairman. However, it’s still the end of an era and not to sound pessimistic or negative, but it’s reasonable to assume his reasons for doing so could very well be health related. Chances that this decision is business related is practically slim to none since business for Apple has never been better in fact. Whatever the case may be we cannot ignore the fact that despite the circumstances Steve Jobs has inspired millions of people during his more than impressive career and will continue to do so even long after he retires.

Ahh okay thank’s for the clarity there Darryl. Do you think keynote speeches will change much, or Steve Jobs will do them still?
