Steve Job’s Blasts Tracking Fears, Cites “We do not track anyone”

What do you get when you throw rumors (or unverified news, as it were) at a top tier CEO? A blasting answer is what, or at least that appears to be what you get after Steve Jobs has replied to a customer in response to an email he received regarding Apple tracking and time stamping user locations.
Originally (and apparently sent) via a MacRumors members email, the member mail said:
Steve,
Could you please explain the necessity of the passive location-tracking tool embedded in my iPhone? It’s kind of unnerving knowing that my exact location is being recorded at all times. Maybe you could shed some light on this for me before I switch to a Droid. They don’t track me.
Within the hour Steve Jobs purpotedly replied back to this mail, and said that:
Oh yes they do. We don’t track anyone. The info circulating around is false.
Stepping back from this supposed legit email, Steve Jobs is referring to recent claims that Apple is tracking iPhone users moves via time stamping and co-ordinate logs, which are then sync’d to a users hard drive whenever they sync their device. Whether or not this is true is anybody’s guess, however the original rumor started from a couple of ex-Apple developers.
