What ever happened to DuoSense? :-/

As a webmaster and iPhone user I am always on the lookout for applications which simplify browser based online tasks. For example I have a Google Analytics app, a URL shortener app, a Twitter app and of course the WordPress app. So what about an Adsense app? Well I did have one of those, but I don’t now.
Yes, for over 2 months my primary Adsense app, DuoSense, has been out of action and not working. Now I usually restrain from voicing my frustrations on my website, however it has to be done this time because not only did I pay for this app, but it was a bloody good one too. In search for answers then I decided to do a little bit of research and find out exactly what was going on, and whether other users of DuoSense were having the same problems. First of all, I started at Apple’s App Store.
Searching for DuoSense, the app interestingly still shows up in the Apple App Store, however unsurprisingly it’s overall rating has now dropped to two stars from a previous score of around 4. But what does this mean? Well, angry users, of course. Here are some of my favourite reviews from pissed customers:
“It has been several weeks now since I shelled out on this app, and still no signs of it actually working. The developers know it doesn’t work, but they are still happy to take our money. They should refund us and remove this piece of junk from the app store. Very shoddy behaviour, AVOID!!!”. By Spiritual.
“Very disappointed loved this app when it worked, now it does not login. NEED A FIX!!!!”. By Mark.
From these reviews, and amazingly, consumers on Apple’s App Store are paying for an app which doesn’t work anymore. Now I don’t fall in to this category exactly, as I used it for 2 months prior to it screwing itself over, however the developers of this app are STILL taking money off people for an app which doesn’t perform, so two questions on the tip of my tongue are:
1) Where the hell are these developers, and what on earth are they doing?
2) Where the hell is Apple, and why are they allowing this to go on?
According to users of this app on forums, there is no sign of the DuoSense developers and nobody can answer why exactly the app is not working and according to this Google Mobile post, there are a few Adsense apps which are not working. My primary concern however is DuoSense, and the fact that the dev’s are raking in cash highly unethically.
In the second part of my research, I decided to search online for an official DuoSense website. You can find this here http://www.duosense.net/. On the website, the app makers are still trying to sell this app despite it not working and on the home page, they are still showing sales text including “ DuoSense is a premium high end AdSense App for your iPhone. DuoSense is able to track, analyze and optimize your AdSense earnings on the go. All features come with detailed plot-able reports on earnings, CTR and PPC. On top of that DuoSense includes a help center with expert-written AdSense guides.”
Now as already noted, none of the features in that sales pitch work. In fact, they are defunct. The website does however have a FAQ page, which has answers to questions (none of which I need answering). They are all generic, and re-assurances of an app which previously worked.
The website also does not have a blog, meaning that there is no way of seeing if they are updating the app or trying to fix it for ripped of users.
In the third part of my research, I decided to get in contact with them the best I could through social media. Logging on to my Facebook page, and then going to theirs, I finally got an answer to my longing question; what ever happened to DuoSense?
The app makers of DuoSense are apparently working on a fix for this app right now, and on October 10th, posted this message on their Facebook page:
Hi folks,
we are still working on the issue, it is more complicated than we expected. We will be able to give you an exact ETA tomorrow.
Thanks + Sorry,
-hendrik
Well thanks Hendrik, but apology not fully accepted. I did by the way go back to the page on the 11th for an ETA ( as promised by Hendrik ), however there wasn’t one. Your guess is as good as mine then as to when DuoSense users will be able to use their app, however I for one am not holding my breath, and am switching asap.
