Creative Wireless Rock speaker

[ 2 ] Posted by on July 22, 2010

Creative has been showing off its brand new wireless rock speaker lately, which powers itself not through a mains wire but in fact from a removable rechargeable battery that delivers up to 6 hours of playback at a time.

Creative says the Wireless Rock Speaker is a “high-quality stereo speaker encased in a granite-rock-like exterior,” and is designed to “withstand moderate weather conditions so it doesn’t have to be brought in every time it rains.” Hmm, that sounds to me like the wireless rock speaker isn’t ‘entirely’ weatherproof but in fact should hold its own in the occasional shower. Creative says the battery recharges through a separate powered charging cradle (included), and the battery plugs into the back of the speaker, “so the speaker does not have to be moved in order to be charged.”

The Wireless Rock Speaker, although it sounds great, is not a Bluetooth speaker and only works with the $100 Sound Blaster Wireless USB audio system, which is sold separately. Once you plug the USB accessory into your computer, you can then stream music wirelessly from iTunes, Pandora, or other music apps (the speaker must be within 100 feet though).

  1. That rock speaker looks huge on the picture, look more like a ‘boulder speaker’ to me lol.
