Samsung has just launched its brand spanking new Galaxy Player 50 here in the UK, showering us with a host of rather redeeming features which make us want to go ‘oooh’.
On top of sporting a 3.2-inch Tab-like WGVGA TFT touch screen, a 2-megapixel camera/camcorder and Wi-Fi connectivity, this media player also has Android 2.1 (Eclair), so you’ll get access to the Android Marketplace to download from the 100,000 and steadily growing app catalogue – and yes, that means that Angry Birds is yours for the taking.
A true iPod Touch alternative
The Samsung Player 50 also have a few one ups on the iPod Touch, with the browser supporting flash and MPEG4, WMV and DivX/XviD video file compatibility being throw in. What you end up with at the end of this is a highly open video and gaming portable, sporting a wealth of redeeming features which could lure people away from Apple’s iPod Touch.
The Player 50 is available in 8GB and 16GB models and storage can be ramped up by a micro SD card up to 32GB. The Player 50 is priced at £149 (8GB) and £179 (16GB) and is available now from multiple retailers online.
