02 having network issues due to theft & vandalism
Well who would have thought it, two network carriers have now reported bad news in one day and the misery seems to never stop. First Vodafone told us about their Xperia Play smartphones being stolen and now 02 has posted an update on their blog surrounding their network issues, blaming theft & vandalism as the root cause.
On the issue, in which users in specific areas across the UK might be experiencing the inability to send or recieve texts, 02 have stated that:
There has been theft and vandalism at one of our operations sites in East London and, as a result, customers in East London, North London, Kent and Sussex may be experiencing problems making or receiving calls, texts or data.
For anybody who has been affected by this I would be very interested to find out, so as always feel free to drop us a line about your issues. On the issue of how long you’ll be without your texts 02 have stated that their engineers are on site now replacing stolen equipment and trying to repair vandalism. For all 02 users out there i’ll bet this is one surprise you weren’t hoping to get.

I live in East Essex and haven’t been able to take, receive or make any telephone calls since this morning. It’s bloody ridiculous!

I’m sorry to hear that! Keep on eye on 02′s tweets for further information.
I’m having these issues however for some reason I can recieve texts it is just sendig them that’s the problem. Hopefully 02′s engineers will sort this out!
