Just bought yourself a shiny new Windows Phone 7 handset? Well if you have, may I just say you have made a great decision!
Windows Phone 7′s app marketplace has been growing steadily for a few weeks now and it shows no signs of slowing down. So if you are part of the WP7 club, then there are a few apps which I would recommend to you for their stability, polished off looks and also usability. Naturally, Angry Birds made the list.
App number #1: Angry Birds
I don’t really need to explain why Angry Birds is such a hot app right now; in fact, it has been a hot app ever since it launched well over a year ago. Not only can I recommend it for its awesomeness, but I can also recommend it for it’s constant updates and patches.
App number #2: Official Kindle App
E-reading is fast becoming the norm. So if you love reading books then open your app marketplace and grab the Kindle experience of well over 700,000 books. This app launched just a few days ago on WP7, and has hit over 20,000 downloads already.
App number #3: Adobe Reader
As of yet you can’t get flash on Windows Phone 7 devices (you will soon though!) and so the Adobe Reader app is an okay substitute. It lets you open PDF files from web pages and email attachments seamlessly.
App number #4: Youtube app
As mentioned above, Windows Phone 7 handsets don’t do flash yet, and so the official Youtube app is an essential bit of kit which I personally could not do without. Covering the basics, this app will play any video you like, although the controls are minimal (but okay).
App number #5: Official Twitter App (not Twitt app!)
The Official Twitter app for Windows Phone 7 is a good overall Twitter tool. It carries across almost every feature of the iPhone Twitter app, and also looks nice with a rather clean layout and glossy finish.
So there we go! 5 almost essential Windows Phone 7 Apps (okay, so non are reeeeeeally essential) but oh well. Enjoy.
[UPDATE: it seems we have listed Angry Birds as our #1 choice for WP7 users to download. Currently it is unavailable on the marketplace. Sorry folks. It should be out in the coming months]

I wasn’t aware that angry birds had been released on Windows Phone 7 and have been unable to find it in both the app store and on the web. Am I missing something here!? Would certainly buy it if it were available.
@Ben, Well pointed out!
