iPhone 4 vs Galaxy S II, which one should you choose?

The two most comparable smartphone’s on the market are the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S II. Even though on paper the S II is significantly more advanced than the iPhone 4, we have to compare these two handsets because currently they are both the flagship hardware to show off two companies different operating systems.
iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 was released in 2010 and had millions of people around the world queueing up for it. It features Apple’s A4 processor as seen in the iPad 1 which is, quite frankly, fast. The iPhone 4 also runs iOS 5 (to be released Autumn) which is exactly the same as what the iPhone 5 will run, meaning that from an Apple software view the iPhone 4 is future proof to an extent.
The iPhone 4 has a 3.5″ screen which is very beautiful indeed and the display itself is cool, meaning it shows off white beautifully. Design wise it features an all glass and metal design which is argue if you like fantastic to hold. Apple’s app store features an amazing amount of apps too, and as a webmaster, I find some of them highly valuable. It does have to be stated however that the iPhone 5 will be released soon this year (2o11), and a lot of people will be ditching their iPhone 4′s for the brand new 5, meaning the iPhone 4 doesn’t have long left as Apple’s flagship handset.
Galaxy S II

No other Android smartphone on the market is as desireable as the Galaxy S II. It features an amazing price tag, an amazing 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an amazing 4.3″ display and a design even thinner than the iPhone 4′s. On the design front, then, the Galaxy S II trumps the iPhone 4 aesthetically despite being made of plastics.
The S II runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s Touchwiz interface and has access to Android’s amazingly versatile app store, with many of the apps being off just a high quality as Apple’s. Even though the Apple logo would perhaps get you more street credibility than the S II’s Samsung logo, Geek’s would think differently and snap your hand off for this highly beautiful and powerful handset.
Overall
Overall this is 2011 and at this present time the Galaxy S II is the greatest smartphone available, period. As a long time iOS user myself, I was awe struck the first time I used an S II and the display really is magnificent. This coupled with the fact that the S II can be purchased for £29 a month makes it the clear choice for anybody reading this.

Gingerbread is Android 2.3. Honeycomb is Android 3.0 (and not available for phones at time of writing). The article is a little lopsided, why no mention of the HTC Sensation if we’re talking about 2011 phones.
Thanks for the heads up! That was me writing and editing my post in the dark, on my laptop. Just to clairfy I changed it to Android 2.3 from 3.0.
The reason the HTC Sensation isn’t listed is because the post is not around the HTC Sensation, but I do love that phone. The Sensation is listed in my best smartphones 2011 article here: http://www.technologyblogged.com/round-ups/best-smartphones-2011
.
Thanks for the comment, P. Do you have a HTC Sensation?
The iPhone 4 came out in 2010, the S II in 2011, so your verdict is about right lets be honest. It’ll be intersting to see what Apple do with the iPhone 5.
i prefer iphone. i think of apple makes more useful & quality products than samsung…
