You will know Lenovo best for their range of laptops, Ultrabooks and desktop computers. Within the UK they aren’t particularly well known for smartphones and at this time their handsets are very hard to come by, unless one stumbles across a UK based retailer stocking them. For this reason we can only presume that Lenovo’s latest smartphone is bound for China only, however it does have its quirks.
Namely, the smartphone features a dual-SIM design and is waterproof too. It’s called the Lenovo A660 (catchy name, for sure) and consumers will find Android Ice Cream Sandwich running on it out of the box. Powering the handset is a 1GHz dual-core processor whilst the display is a capacitive 4-inch 800 x 480 screen most probably of the Pentile variety. Around the back of the Lenovo A660 you will find a 5-megapixel rear camera, with no flash.
As noted this smartphone has a dual-SIM design and also supports WCDMA + GSM connections, whilst design wise the A660 will be available in a few colour choices to please those with an eye for design. I’m not so sure just how waterproof this handset will be on in the real world, however based on its marketing talk, it should survive a sink for 20 seconds although we will have to just wait and see on that.
For those of your UK’ers out there who are digging this Lenovo smartphone, unfortunately and as above it probably will not be available officially in the UK.PS: Digging this story, news or review? Let us know! Comments open.
