LG scraps smartphone sales targets, shows signs of fail
In the world of ultimate fails LG perhaps isn’t all applicable, namely because their handsets as of late haven’t been all that bad, however LG have had a pretty miserable past 12 months in terms of market appeal and sales figures for their smartphones. The problems LG have have faced include that whilst their handsets have matched other manufacturers in many cases in terms of raw power, a lot of their smartphones have been plagued with bugs that have turned customers away and a lot of smartphones have seriously missed out in marketing material when compared to HTC or Samsung. So, then, it makes no surprise to us that LG has back tracked on their previous sales figures for 2011 from 30 million smartphones to 24 million, and overall handset shipments from 150 million to 114 million.
Smartphones from LG that we like include the Optimus One, LG Optimus 2X and LG Optimus 3D.
