MOTOBLUR brand finally phased out

Motorola’s MOTOBLUR brand hasn’t really had much significance in the smartphone market. Gone have the days of any television adverts here in the UK, and the very last time I ever saw MOTOBLUR branding within print media was around 6 months ago. Naturally, then, the latest news that the MOTOBLUR brand is finally being phased out by Motorola hasn’t surprised me in the least.
Yep it is finally true, and according to Engadget, a Motorola spokesperson has confirmed that the MOTOBLUR brand name will be going from now on, however some functionality of the Android skin will remain. Most probably what this means is that the home screen and out of the box sociability will still be intact, although this hasn’t exactly been confirmed yet.
Motorola’s handsets within the last 2 years have had a profound affect on the Android market, and some of the strongest smartphones to be released since 2009 have been from Motorola.
