Nokia 6700 18 Carat Gold Edition
The 6700! A phone for anybody who wants a solid build, reliable OS and familiar UI. A phone for the masses – people whom want a secondary phone and people whom don’t want a touchscreen.
But now the 6700 has had a make over, gone are some of the ‘faint’ wrinkles and stretch marks and in its place comes some french perfum, all wrapped up in some rather sensual lingerie.
You may remember my post about the Solid Gold Nintendo Wii < which sold for £300,000. Popular with people whom have a high disposable income, gold plated iPod sales are also increasing according to annual reports.
The phone will be available in a whole smothering of 18 Carat Gold, or 18 Carat Gold with a white inlay (see picture above). I’d say which one I prefer but the truth is i’d rather take a toaster and bath with it than have either < I have the stainless steel polished version of this phone and love it, the french perfume splashed on the neck of this phone doesn’t entirely do it for me.
Whats included?
The Gold Edition 6700 comes with custom themes to match the outer casing, and also has an 8GB microSD card thrown in. A carry case also comes as standard as does a phone loop and stereo headset.
Spec wise the 6700 remains the same, running Symbian S40 and sporting a 5 megapixel camera along with Nokias usual array of practical multimedia.
When will It be available?
You’ll be able to get your hands on it during Q1 2010. No doubt they’ll sell quite a few.
How much will it cost?
After tax, the Gold Edition Nokia 6700 will be around $385, which if i’m right is around twice the price of a standard 6700.
Should I buy it?
I won’t be – but since when did my opinion matter? Hell, if you like it then buy it! The original 6700 is a brilliant phone, well worthy of an 8 out of 10. The Gold Edition is that great phone, but in sexy lingerie.
