Nokia Lumia 800 Windows smartphone announced

Did you love the industrial all polycarbonate look of the Nokia N9 however didn’t want to commit to a soon non supported operating system a.k.a Symbian? Well now Nokia has you covered, after announcing their first ever Windows Phone Mango smartphone in the name of the Lumia 800, sporting near-enough identical design credentials to the N9 whilst running Microsoft’s latest iteration of their mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7.5.
Unveiled at the Nokia World 2011 London keynote, Stephen Elop announced the handset to applause. The Lumia 800, which sports a 12.1mm (0.48-inch) thick of piece of durable polycarbonate plastic as it’s chassis, a 3.7″ ClearBlack AMOLED display to view all your media on and an 8 megapixel camera, looks fantastic and is soon to be one of the best Windows mobile handsets in the world. All in all, the Lumia 800 looks like an extremely capable smartphone, however we’ll have to wait and see tests regarding battery life and whether this thing will need to be hooked up to your power supply constantly.
