Nokia unveils their N9 handset packing MeeGo OS

[ 0 ] Posted by on June 21, 2011

nokia n9We’ve been here before, and being one of many technology news websites highly anticipating Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 handsets, Nokia seems intent on trying to spread a little bit of interest in to their smartphones with a brand new release – which doesn’t sport WP7 or Symbian – in the name of the N9, a MeeGo OS based handset packing a 3.9 inch display and polycarbonate unibody enclosure. Nokia states that the N9 will ship with 1GB of RAM, 16GB (or 64GB) onboard storage and will offer four-band GSM support and five-band support for CDMA.

Display wise you are looking at Nokia’s highest resolution display yet, set at 854 x 480 pixels, and camera wise the N9 will pack an eight-megapixel shooter with Carl Zeiss Optics along with dual LED flash. Moving back to MeeGo and the N9 will run the latest version of the operating system, 1.2 Harmattan, which shares a lot of the design visually as Apple’s iOS home screen. Hit up the video below to see the N9 in action.
