Vodafone delays Xperia Play launch in New Zealand, cites phones stolen

There are generally very few excuses a company can come up with when it comes to halting products from being in the technology hungry hands of consumers, however this one appears to be genuine, after Vodafone announced that they had a major security breach during the transportation and shipment of Xperia Play smartphones, citing that they have been stolen. This has sparked delays across New Zealend, and as of yet no numbers for the phones stolen have been announced, although we speculate it to be in the thousands.
Undoubtedly it will only be a matter of time before these mobile phones will be recovered, however it must have taken one mastermind of an operation to pull this one off.
