Students content insurance is becoming an increasingly popular market due to the fact that the modern student room is full of an array of expensive gadgets and if the worse came to worse all of these gadgets would have to be replaced. This, i’m sure you will agree with, is nearly impossible on a student budget bearing in mind the majority of degrees last 3 years. Student contents insurance has been created in order to put the minds of students at rest, giving students the best possible cover for all their belongings at the lowest possible price.

What to watch out for

Most companies allow students to simply pay for the cover they need and these are the companies you should look at first as there are no added extras or expenses to worry about in the event of damage. Opportunists know that second or third year students live in large houses with many people and leaving a door or a window open by mistake can happen, especially after a big night out, meaning you should always look for cover which protects you from theft.

You should always read the small print on all insurers terms and conditions before you purchase any kind of insuarance, student related or not. When you purchase insuarance online, you have to tick boxes stating that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions and you should always read them so you do not get stung afterwards. After all, there is nothing more annoying than a company blaming yourself for any damage to your gadgets just because they can cite their terms and condition which you failed to read.

Watch out for companies who bolt on useless coverage. This is becoming an increasing problem across multiple financial industries and people are occasionally miss-sold different types of insurance. Again, make sure you read the terms and conditions online, as well as in paper form when they arrive in the post.
