Snugg Denim Kindle 3 Case Review
Your Amazon Kindle 3 is one neat little device I have to admit. Featuring a hot industrial design, a huge e-book store, a battery life reminiscent of the age one of my old hamsters and what with being Amazon’s best selling product ever, it’s fair to say that your purchase is a sound one. So how about protecting your purchase in something equally impressive? Well that’s what we’re trying to do. The Snugg Denim Kindle 3 case is the latest case we have received to review and unlike a lot of cases for sale the Snugg Denim is nice to look at. Hit up my review below to see what I thought of it.
Review: Design, Build
Cases for thin devices should be thin themselves, there, that’s my philosophy for today and the Snugg Denim is a case which fits that philosphy well. The case itself is of the book category, being folded to protect both the back and front of your Kindle. Implementation wise inserting my Kindle was easy due to the holding pen being four elastic strips on each inside corner of the case. I found that these held the case rather well, with the Kindle’s featherweight design playing a key role in this.
Aesthetics wise what’s to say? The majority of cases i’ve tried for my Kindle simply weren’t right; i’ve had odd cuts, mis-fits and cases which smelled terribly artificial, however the Snugg Denim Case is not any of these (well almost), and I actually think the aesthetics are pleasing (although our Author Alec James didn’t take to it that well, as he said it smelled very artifical). Colour wise this case comes in one, a stone wash denim, with a sort of suede / leather mock leather inside trim, which I found helps grip the Kindle along with the elastic corners.
The build quality itself feels of a high quality and the review model we recieved was fresh from the factory so is what consumers will be getting. Our model (pictured) had no stray stitching or blemishes which was thoughtful, and means that the production process for this case meets requirements.
Practicability
Following on from the above this case is excellent for keeping your Kindle looking thin, and one of the perks to the book design is that all ports for charging and connectivity are easily accessable when the case is on. The case is also very light, meaning it doesn’t add any real-world (humanly noticeable) weight to reading indoors or out, and on the outdoor front, I used this case in 23 degree sunny heat and it allowed me to keep hold of my Kindle very well (clammy hands, urgh).
As with all quite expensive electronics I don’t recommend carrying your Kindle with your hand all the time even with a case on unless it’s waterproof, so this case is best suited for people who toss their Kindle in a bag to go to the Gym or park and just want something a little bit extra.
Pricing
The Snugg Denim Kindle 3 is priced at a very affordable £19.99 in the UK, and currently has 3 reviews on the Amazon store here, all of which are 5 stars.
Verdict
For the price the design and the accessability of ports this Kindle case is one of the best I have ever tested. If I went further on the design front i’d say that whether you like this case aesthetically will be a matter of personal opinion, however for the cheap price it is at build quality is top notch.
I tried my hardest to fault this product for what it is (a case) throughout this review, however with no internal components to think about and your main buying reason being protection that looks great I simply can’t find a single downer this case ships with, meaning that for the first time ever in our reviews I have been ready to award this case top marks. Our author Alec James however told me that due to the chemically artificial smell the case ships with, this case should be awarded one less. Oh well, two opinions are better than one.

I’m not too sure on the denim design imo, it’d look good in leather!
