Snugg Squared iPad 2 Case Review
Silicone cases are the cheapest way to protect your device, period. Whilst offering a high level of grip, they are also weather and waterproof and will statistcally outlive your hardware as long as you don’t tear or stretch it. Today we’re taking a look at one such case in the name of the Snugg Squared iPad 2 case.
Review: Design, build
There isn’t really much one can say surrounding a silicone case however the Snugg Squared iPad 2 case is one of the better feeling ones i’ve ever held, with thanks to the silicone having a very matte touch and also incorporating (you guessed it) squares along the rear of its surface. The reason as to why the squares are there are down to two reasons, a) the squares make this product different to anything else on the market and b) the squares offer substantial impact resistance and shock absorbency.
One thing I love about silicone cases is the fact that they themselves are completely washable and waterproof, meaning that although your iPad 2 might get too grubby for its own good, your case never will. The case itelf fits the iPad 2 dare I say it fantastically, however due to the weight of the iPad 2 itself you’ll find yourself occasionally pulling the case off from the sides if cumbersome.
Practicability
As noted in the design above this case features squares along the rear of its surface which whilst differentiating it from other products and offering great shock absorbancy, also aid grip when holding the iPad 2 in your hands; this, coupled with the matte feel, make for an incredibly pleasant case to hold.
Again (I keep referring to design) this case is waterproof and so should your iPad 2 be in the case on say your kitchen work surface and you spill your milk there is no need to worry about damage. The case itself isn’t very thick either to look at, meaning that it keeps your iPad 2 looking svelt whilst also maximising protection.
Pricing
As you would expect this case isn’t very expensive and rolls in at £18.99 here.
Overall
Overall I like this case. It certainly stands out amongst other boring plain silicone cases however due to the iPad 2′s weight, the case can peel off at the sides and have to be re-put on occasionally if you are cumbersome, making me wish it had some form of sticky insides to make sure it stays put (tip: double sided sticky tape).
