Three Things that can Slow Your Computer Down
Over several years, since I’ve been using my computer as a blogger, there have never been situations as worse as my computer performing slowly. You can hardly think well and focus on what you are doing if your computer is slow. While many computers are generally slow in performance because of their low capacity and inferior configurations, new model laptops and desktop computers can perform wonderfully well in terms of speed.
However, there are factors and occurrences that can turn your high capacity computer into a slow performing one. You won’t like to see your new computer become slow some day, but this might become inevitable if you can’t avoid the following from taking place in your computer. Read on to find out what some of the most common problems are for computers when it comes to speed.
Viruses and spywares
We all know how dangerous viruses and spywares can be. A virus can actually make your computer become slow overnight. There have been emphasizes on keeping our computers safe from viruses by making sure we have a current and up to date antivirus program and avoid downloading from unknown sources. No measure of caution is enough. You just have to be careful about how you allow things come into your computer.
Make sure you know the source of programs before installing them on your computer. Installing the wrong program can cause your computer to become slow or, worst, make it crash. If a program you bought from the market is not from a reputable source, avoid installing it on your computer as such may contain viruses.
Disk Errors
Having disk errors on your computer is a normal occurance. It is the nature of technology to encounter errors but yours’ is to look for them and try to correct them.
What are the possible outcomes of disk errors on your computer? Disk error occurs when the programs on your computer generate temporary files that will later accumulate and cause your computer to become slow. If you do not maintain your hard disk very well, your computer will conflict original files with the junk files that are generated by programs on your computer.
To check disk errors you’ll have to run chkdsk command which will analyze and try to correct disk errors on your computer. Click “start” and then “Run”, type “cmd” and then type “chkdsk” in the command prompt window.
Fragmented Hard Disk
Your computer will perform better if you defragment the hard disk frequently. The computer I dedicate to my weight watchers discounts and ediets coupon blogs is defragmented every Wednesday of the week because I do a lot of work on it. You might as well need to defragment your computer every week. This will ensure that the files on it are in a single piece and thus make it easier for your computer to open your documents and programs.
If you fail to defragment your computer for a long period of time, your files will be segregated into different locations on your hard disk and your operating system will have to take longer time in reading your files. This definitely means your computer will become slow in speed.

Good post. Those 3 things are definitely some of the top culprits for a slow computer. A few other things that can cause a computer to run slower are registry errors, a full hard drive, and drivers problems. Also, if the computer is starting to get a bit dated, a lack of memory may be the main reason for the slowness.
Thanks
nice website btw!
