Wikipedia has reached it’s ten year birthday, after having over three million articles and 23 million pages in some 270 languages added to it – 17 million of those are written in English, with another 1,100 being added per day from sources around the world. Wikipedia currently site has just over 100,000 regulars who keep the content coming, a number which we would personally be highly proud of.

To celebrate their tenth year, Wikipedia are holding events around the world including in Europe and the US, with talks surrounding the internet sensation.

So the iTablet has been the main talking point for everybody for the last few weeks. Just what will this device be like? Is it for work like most tablets or is it for play? Will it have HDMI output and a CD ROM drive or not? Well, we just do not know yet. I wish I did, but I do not – in fact, there is no official news or credible sources anywhere to suggest that the iTablet even exists, or even if it does, exactly what the tablet will be called; iPad? iSlate? iTablet? iTouch? take your pick, i’d guess iTablet to be honest.

Of course with skeptics aside, and in my opinion, the iTablet will be announced tonight and the event has already hailed some controversy with the invitation saying ‘come see our latest creation’. I truly can not wait for the news to break, and I will most definately give you an in depth analysis of all Apples announcements – from the rumoured iTablet to the new iPhone 4.0 OS update which could have multi-tasking.

What I would really like to see is an iPhone Nano < I really want it to come into consumers hands and become reality because, for some people, the current dimensions of smart phones are just too big. And despite everything, sleekness and minimalist looks are just not cutting it for some consumers. I highly doubt we will see this today though, and for me it doesn’t seem like a completely must have addition to the Apple product portfolio anyway. But it would still be nice to see!

Right, thats it – my thoughts all wrapped up. So, I guess I had better get back to work then .

Synaptics Fuse

Not long since Synaptics came up with a new and innovative idea for next gen phones, they have now actually put their designs into a physical handset.

Truly exciting, this handset could revolutionise the way in which we interact with our mobile phones – haptic feedback merged with proximity sensors are just some of the features this has.

Unfortunately however, Synaptics is hoping to sell their patented technology on a lease to other manufacturers, which makes sense from a businessy profit kind of way. But I can’t help but feel what a shame it is that this handset may not reach the consumer market, and it is a further shame that the model at CES didn’t have an OS on it – infact, it just had basic functions out for play.

If Palm introduced this kind of technology on a new phone, built around WebOS then i’d buy it in a shot. Even better, I would also buy this phone if Synaptics refused to lease to Apple, to force them into coming up with new innovation – naturally I just want things to move on very fast, the true techie I am.

I was so excited to see this phone is real, physical and was actually at CES. I’ve been following its news updates for over 5 months, and so I have no problem recommending people to watch out for its technology in next gen phones.

I look forward to the more feature rich version at next months Mobile World Congress.

Samsung CL80 / Samsung ‘You don’t want anything else’

Looks like any digital camera, right? I mean, it has a lense, metallic body and takes photos.

But dwell further and this camera has a 3.7 inch AMOLED display, which produces the most vibrant and colourful display I have ever seen on a camera. On top of the truly massive screen, this camera taken stills in 14.2 Megapixels whilst packing a not so incredible 7x optical zoom.

It will also shoot video in 720P, which pits it against the Flip Mino HD, in which this would win, and an angled base for better group shots / not as if you would want to risk losing this beautiful camera on a night out.

Non of this is mind boggling; but wait. Heres the good part, if you are into sharing then there is no better camera than this. You can share via DLNA, Bluetooth or WIFI – perfect for Facebook.

With all these features packed into such a beautiful design, Samsung could have come up with the talk of 2010.

Touch Revolution Microwave – It runs Android 1.5

Fancy that, a post about a microwave. No really, a post about a microwave. But not just any microwave.

The Touch Revoluion touch screen microwave runs Android 1.5, via a 7 inch touch screen.

The company that makes capacitive touch screens, Touch Revolution, says there are no boundaries between where these screens can go. Of course, you won’t find one on your underpants, but perhaps you’ll find them on E-Book readers sometime soon.

Like this gadget? I’ll bet it’ll cost over £600 at least – and thats for a microwave. Although inspiring, this is not innovating – and certainly not a Tech Revolution.

The Tech Revolution NIM1000 module packs an 806MHz ARM processor and video acceleration co-processor. It can also support MMC/SD, Wi-Fi, USB, Ethernet and accelerometer components.

All these products will be flying off the shelves at your local retailors so make sure to go to an online store to check for availability and pricing.
