In other news Sharp announced their first ever super hi-vision LCD display too which offers an amazing 16x more detail than 1080p. Moving on to the tablet sphere, and Blackerry has apparently sold 250,000 Playbook’s, despite it’s crushing in the reviews.

Yesterday there was quite a bit of technology news which might have caught your attention and made for an interesting read, chief of which was the fact that Sony announced that they think they know who hacked in to their Playstation Network and stole millions of users data. Whether or not this news story is true (in terms of if it was them) is unclear, however Sony currently appear to be getting on top of this issue.

02 to stock Xperia Play

In the world of smartphones carriers continuously try and better one another by offering a smartphone first and 02 had this opportunity, however decided to not stock the Xperia Play until ‘big’s were fixed’. In their place came Three who stocked the smartphone immediately. Luckily 02 will now start selling the Xperia Play in June.

Looking to nab yourself up a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play? Love strategy Games? Then this news my friend is for you. Received only 10 minutes ago, a press release has made its way online regarding Dungeon Defenders and its immediate release for the Xperia Play. Happy days, huh?

Press release below.

Gainesville, FL – 8 April 2011 –

On April 1st, Trendy Entertainment and Sony Ericsson released Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave, the player versus player, multiplayer sequel to the hit, number one Android game Dungeon Defenders: First Wave! Originally planned only for consoles, now it’s playable for the first time as it was originally meant to be played—with controls on Sony Ericsson’s new Xperia™ PLAY smartphone.

Xperia™ PLAY, which launches this month around the world, is the must-have smart phone on the fully-featured Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) platform. It is also the world’s first PlayStation certified smartphone, offering unrivalled gaming capability with dedicated gaming controls and ultra-fast graphics based on the optimized Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Adreno GPU.

Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave includes all of the content of First Wave, along with an entirely new player versus player multiplayer mode. Offering over 30 hours of gameplay, persistent characters, a pet system and multiple multiplayer modes, Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave is the largest and most-fully featured game available on the Android Market to date! Furthermore, all of Dungeon Defenders’ multiplayer modes can be enjoyed over WiFi or 3G.

“Dungeon Defenders is THE game that pushes Android graphics to its limits – it’s truly a full console game available on mobile,” said Agapitus Lye, President of Trendy Entertainment. “That is why we have chosen to launch it exclusively on the ultimate gaming smartphone – we can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on Xperia™ PLAY!”

“Serious gamers will love the deep and immersive gameplay of Dungeon Defenders Second Wave, which is a brilliant ambassador for the capabilities of Xperia™ PLAY,” said Steve Walker, Sony Ericsson’s Head of Marketing. “We’re thrilled to offer this amazing game exclusively on Xperia™ PLAY.”

Things reviewers have said about Dungeon Defenders: First Wave:

“Excellent, Unreal-powered graphics; colorful & fun mix of action, RPG, & tower defense genres; excellent cooperative multiplayer (4/4)”

- Slide To Play, Perfect Score

“A whole lot of World of Warcraft aesthetics, plus stats. Lots of stats. Loot. Leveling. Money. Mana. Getting the picture? I kinda love Dungeon Defenders.”

-Kotaku, 12 Best Mobile Games Of 2010

“ It’s sorta like an Action-RPG and sorta like a Tower Defense game but really, it’s just all fun.” -Gizmodo, Android App of the Week

Internet Explorer, Microsoft’s hit and highly appraised browser, has suffered a loss of market share to newer more consumer experience focused browsers.

The likes of Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome have seen their market share rise lately and 2010 has seen their best performance since their launch. 2010 has seen that Google Chrome has now got an advantage over Safari, a browser launched by Apple inc. Although IE still has a 67% market share, it has been projected that by May 2010 that market share could drop to 50%.

From experience, I switched over from IE to Firefox around 3 years ago – I immediately found it faster, with less bugs and an amazing array of add ons. It suits me perfectly, and as an SEO Consultant by day I love the professional add ons that are available.

But, around four months ago, I also tried out Opera – and the speed amazed me. It is by far the fastest browser.

I have tried Google Chrome, and it is okay – very clean and minimalistic. Apple’s Safari however has always been a wild card to me and doesn’t offer the same experience as any other browsers.

What broswer do you guys use?
