Ahh the world of technology and user activation. On top of Google’s heat map they released a while ago featuring Android activations, Google announced yesterday at the I/O developer conference that every day 400,000 brand new Android devices are activated (and by devices that includes smartphones, tablets etc.). Since August 2010 the number of new activations per day has risen by 200,000+ which is more than half. On top of the numbers already quoted, over 100 million Android products have been activated since Google launched their OS on the T-Mobile G1.

That is a lot of phones… Android is going to pass Apple pretty quickly in overall market dominance. I guess its not really fair, given apple is one company and Android is well almost every other cell phone / tablet company; Shows you how good Apple products are.

It would appear that Apple’s future of smartphones and tablets will be confined to the exclusive sector, much like their current Mac line up.
