Acer to carry on rolling out tablet PC’s despite low demand

It isn’t because Acer’s current tablet offerings are utter rubbish that has resulted in a low demand for them, it is simply because nobody in the real world even knows they exist. Sure, if you are clued in to Android you will be aware of the Acer Iconia tab which rocks 3.0 Honeycomb, but with the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Xoom and EEE Pad Transformer all in your face, why even bother doing any research at all? Despite all of the above, Acer’s founder Stan Shih has recently gone of the record to state that Acer is staying put in the tablet market, but hopefully they’ll be trying to tackle the complete lack of brand awareness they currently.
“Considering the much overlapped development of tablet PC and smartphones, a simplified organization is expected to increase operation efficiency, reduce conflicts in product development and consolidate resources for developing niche and competitive products” said Shih.
