Amazon Kindle Fire sells 95,000 in 24 hours

Now did we tell you the Amazon Kindle Fire was going to be successful or what? Now, however, it has broken our very own expectations and shipped an estimated 95,000 units within 24 hours of being available for purchase, a milestone Amazon should be very excited about indeed. These estimates aren’t coming from Amazon themselves, but rather analyst firm eDataSource, who’s expertise lie in tracking consumer purchases and amazingly their data reveals Amazon may have very well sold nearly 100,000 units of its brand new tablet already.
When you take in to account the price the Kindle Fire costs consumers, and the features it packs, there is little surprise that the Kindle Fire is flying off the shelves already. Currently, the tablet market is overflown with expensive options which provide practically nothing new over one another. Amazon’s offering, however, does.
Compared to Apple’s sales figures of the iPad, the Kindle Fire’s 95,000 milestone doesn’t stand up againt the iPad’s 300,000. Overall though the 95,000 is significantly higher than other competitors such as Samsung, Blackberry and HTC, whose products cost over £200 more.
It is not yet fully known when exactly the Kindle Fire will be available for purchase in the UK, however we reckon’ it’ll be within 2 weeks and with a price tag of around £159. It’ll be interesting to see how many Kindle Fire’s ship in the UK during the same time period eDataSource tracked the US however in the meantime, stay tuned and we’ll let you know asap.
