Amazon Kindle Tablet Coming August?
The Amazon Kindle is without a doubt one of the best e-readers on the market and in terms of popularity rules the roost with consumers. It is only right then that Amazon follow the path of fellow e-reader competitor Barnes & Noble, by producing their very own tablet, which could apparently be available for consumers by August this year. All of this comes from Anonymous sources in Taipei, who state that Amazon are expecting to ship out around 4 million brand new tablets in around five months (a very large figure indeed).
If these sources are correct and this tablet is coming in August, it will be Android based (no word on Gingerbread, Honeycomb) and have E-Ink’s Fringe Field Switching LCD technology, possibly licensed from E-Ink Holdings, meaning consumers will be able to switch between LCD and E-Ink at the switch of a button.
