Android Ice Cream Sandwich Hitting Devices Q4 2011
What do you get when you take Google’s latest Android smartphone platform Gingerbread and mate it together with Google’s latest tablet software Honeycomb? Well that’ll be Ice Cream Sandwich, of course!
Yes it’s finally official and all the delights of Gingerbread and all the delights of Honeycomb are going to get mated together, creating a cross-device OS which intelligently adapts to screen sizes with neat features like an automatically re-sizing status bar. Exciting stuff huh?
Word on the street is that Google’s next gen update to Android will be around sometime during Q4 2011, and right now Google are showing it off. Head over to this blog post at Engadget for some of the event images, or just stare at the one supplied here. Mmm, sandwich.
