Apple Covent Garden store smashed in to ahead of iPhone 4S mania

Ahead of the iPhone 4S officially going on sale in Apple stores across the UK, robbers have hit the Covent Garden Apple store in London making off with thousands of pounds worth of goods, and bags full of iPad 2′s. The robbers struck in the early hours of Monday and turned up on bikes, before smashing down the Apple Store’s windows and grabbing what they could. The police have confirmed however that they have made 2 arrests in connection with the robbery on Apple’s store, with one person being just 16 years of age and the other a 21 year old male. In a statement, the Police have also confirmed that they have not yet made arrests on other suspects within the robbery:
“Although two men are in custody on suspicion of burglary, the inquiry continues and other persons are sought. It is essential that anyone who saw the smash and grab, or the suspects making off, contact us as soon as possible.” said Detective Sergeant Nathan Tozer of Westminster CID speaking with the Guardian.
