Apple to ship new software fix for iPhone 4 glitch

[ 2 ] Posted by on July 2, 2010

After Apple initially dismissed reports about the iPhone 4 antenna reception issue stating that ‘all’ mobile phones have them when held in a certain place, including stating a few cheeky remarks such as ‘the Motorola Droid’ has them, Apple has now officially admitted that the glitch does exist and has promised a software fix for iPhone 4 users in a couple of weeks.

On this an Apple spokesperson; “The company claims it was “stunned” to find that “the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong. Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength”.

Apple however has not said as to how exactly holding the £500 device  diminishes signal strength, leaving people truly boggled as to the true reason.

I have just recieved my iPhone 4 from vodafone and the signal is admittedly pants! I sent back my new phone and got a replacement, this one has better signal but it’s far from what my old htc hero had!

I hope that this new update might help IMO cos I payed 119 quid up front for the phone too.
