Atari greatest hits app lands on Android, Star Raiders and others a go

If you have been in need of an official Atari app which will let you play Star Raiders, Pong and Fatal Run on your Android powered device, then you’ve been out of luck for quite a while but today, Atari has announced their greatest hits app, featuring multiple game packs which will surely keep you enthralled for hours. Now, Android smartphone and tablet owners will get the Missile Command game pack for free when they download the app, and a catalogue with 30 years of retro gaming history to sift through.

The #1 Selling iTunes App Expands into the Global Android Marketplace
London, United Kingdom — November 10, 2011 — Atari Europe, one of the world’s most recognised publishers and producers of interactive entertainment, today announced the availability of Atari’s Greatest Hits for Android Marketplace.
Launched only a few months ago for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, Atari’s Greatest Hits has already exceeded 3.5 million downloads in the iTunes App Store. Android smart phone and tablet owners can now download the App to receive Missile Command for FREE, and get access to a vast catalog of 100 classic Atari games. This extensive collection pays homage to each of the originals and was designed to mimic the gameplay Atari fans remember from 30 years ago.
