EA confirms database hack, further confirms data stolen
EA (Electronic Arts) confirmed to the world on Friday that it’s website had been hacked and that users data had been stolen in the process. On the EA website, EA have stated that “The server system associated with the ‘Neverwinter Nights’ forums was the target of a highly sophisticated and unlawful cyber attack, we immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers’ data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the breach”.
In terms of exactly what has been taken you can expect the usual array of user names, passwords email addresses and phone numbers, however EA has been quick to drop any rumors that credit card details may have been taken.
