ECS Mocking Up iPhone-compatible PadFone Wannabee

It might be ASUS grabbing all our headlines lately with their rather brilliant idea that is the PadFone, however that hasn’t stopped the guys over at ECS from drawing up an iPhone compatible version of the PadFone which will be (or might be) compatible with previous gen iPhones (that’ll be your 4) and the iPhone 5.
Going hands on, the chaps over at IT Portal Pro got to fiddle around with a prototype revealing the tablet has 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with what appears to be a 4:3 screen ratio, just like the Apple iPad as well as sporting a HDMI port for, you know, high-def goodness. How exactly this tablet will look with your iPhone is a matter for a working model to decide, however we suspect it’ll have to be very well designed to sway buyers.

If they can actually build this prototype and make it work properly I can see this being a very good product. Analysts are tipping this to be sold for under the $200 mark which would make it very attractive for users who already have iPhone’s and don’t see the point in buying an iPad as well. I would love to see Asus build this and if it works I would be first in line to buy one. Brilliant idea.
The mock-up for the iPhone? Yeah I can see it selling well, but die hard Apple fans wills tick to their iPad’s undoubtedly.
