Eldar Murtazin: “Nokia may be selling up to Microsoft”
Oh no he didn’t! In the world of corporate takeovers Microsoft’s aquisition of Skype was fairly large at $8.5 billion, however Russian blogger and Nokia tracker Eldar Murtazin noted on his blog a little while ago that Nokia was on Microsoft’s buy up list, too, leading to speculation that Microsoft may buy up Nokia to have it’s very own brand of smartphones. Eldar Murtazin believes that Nokia would sell it’s whole mobile business if offered the right deal.
These claims have caused quite the stir across the internet and unusually a Nokia employee, non other than Nokia UK’s PR guy Mark Squires, supposedly said in a tweet that; “We typically don’t comment on rumors. But we have to say that Eldar’s rumours are getting obviously less accurate with every passing moment”
