Energy saving CFL and LED light bulbs ‘confusing’ consumers in US

Technology news: Consumers in the US are apparently becoming confused with energy saving light bulbs, after it emerged that three quarters of US light bulb sockets are still using old incandescent light bulb technology. The main problem here of course is energy consumption, as the majority of energy produced through incandescent technology is heat and in fact not light. These figures come from the U.S. Department of Energy, whilst the confusion and mis-information part from the associates at Home Depot, who said on the matter of technology:
“LED technology is different because they don’t have the basic filament that the incandescent light bulb does. They have a computer board that takes the energy and converts it from a computer board through the base to create light instead of using the old filament.” said Home Depot Assistant Manager Lindsey Chapman in an interview with 9News.
Are you confused?
This question has to be asked as the subject to us is pretty interesting however if you are confused, remember these pointers; energy saving CFL and LED light bulbs will fit in to standard light bulb sockets, so you shouldn’t have any worries regarding compatibility. Also, whilst CFL and LED light bulbs can be more expensive than incandescent ones, over the space of a year you’ll save the difference in electricity bills anyway. Overall, and with these pointers, we say go for it and grab those energy saving light bulbs. Hit us up in the comments below if you are indeed confused.
