EXCLUSIVE: Who is TabCo? They’re Fusion Garage, with the Grid 10
[UPDATE: We told you so!]
Over the last few months, the noise around whoistabco.com has gotten pretty deafening, with the prevailing thought being that it’s a long viral campaign being run by Nokia in order to drum up support for a forthcoming foray into the tablet market. Now, here’s where Fusion Garage comes in. Remember the JooJoo? It was a much hyped tablet that completely failed to attract commercial attention, created by Fusion Garage.
In one of the promo videos for Who Is TabCo (namely the horrendously cheesy “Lost and Found“‘) you can see the tablet in the back pocket of the main protagonist, being removed by the lady with the black bars. What does it look like? Well check out the above FCC Filing for the Fusion Garage Grid 10, a 10 inch tablet with exactly the same design as the one WhoIsTabCo is flaunting. Yep, it’s exactly the same.
If it does turn out to be the Grid 10, it’ll be unveiled on the 15th of August.

Alec, just a quick correction, the title should be ‘Who are TabCo?’ instead of who is
No correction needed Shane, that’s the wording they use on both their website and videos.

Oh, right, didn’t see that, sorry.
I think you might be on to something!
We always are mate!
Yep you guys were right! Good insight there, it is Fusion Garage!
Why thank you, I do try.
Let’s just hope this isn’t a HUGE fail of a product
Well I’m not sure anybody would write an app using the native SDk, but with the ability to use Android apps this could work well. I’m withholding judgement before I can wrap my hands around one and use it. If Fusion Garage want to send us one, we’d be more than happy to review it.
In all honesty Alec I just want it to be good in the hands with, you know, aluminium and decent materials.
From the looks of it, it’s aluminium in the same vein as the iPad. The announcement “live stream” was insane, mostly due to the fact that it clearly wasn’t live and there was nobody in the room with him (you could hear the applause cutting out abruptly, it was pre-recorded). It would be nice to see them make a good product, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I love that “we told you so”, how on earth did you guys know the answer to this all along?
Darryl´s last [type] ..TabCo Revealed As Fusion Garage With Grid 10 Tablet
@Darryl
Haha. The design in the FCC was near enough the same as that on the teaser video, so we took a punt which worked out pretty well!
It was also about time Fusion Garage did something with their line up,and although some people thought it may be Nokia, it wouldn’t be right for them what with their current position in the smartphone market.
