Google Chromebooks on sale at last, pre-order
If you are gagging to get your hands on a Google Chromebook you can now sort of inch yourself a little bit closer, because Acer’s and Samsung’s Chromebook’s are now available for pre-order at Amazon and Best Buy. Price wise you’re looking at $380 for the WiFi-only model of the Acer Cromia and a more pricey sounding $430 for Samsung’s offering, however we’d opt for the Acer (yep, we’re cheap skates). It is important to note that for the majority of users 3G versions of Chromebooks would be best, because without an internet connection, the Chrome OS will be rendered fairly useless.
On the issue of cheap, these Chromebook’s certainly aren’t all that affordable for people watching the pennies, however over time we’d expect the price of Chromebook’s to drop within a year.
