Google launches Prizes.org, or rather Slide does

Google prizes

In case you didn’t know, Google recently (and quietly) set live a new website which aims to make a business out of prizes according to leading technology websites. Called prizes.org, the website concept is based around offering cash prizes for people who can solve problems and provide solutions to people; examples include ‘best mans speech’ and ‘logo design’.

“Prizes.org is a place where you can create contests and let people compete for a prize of your choosing. The best submission wins the prize!,” the website’s FAQ’s explain.

Interestingly, the payment system for the website is based on Paypal and not Google Checkout and the website itself features no Google branding, despite it being launched by Slide and Google owning them.
