Google opens up the omnibox to developers
Here’s one for all you Chrome addicts out there, Google has just announced that it’s going to opening up the Omnibox API to developers in the hope that they’ll develop plug-ins for the all in one searching device.
What this means is that, say for example, a developer creates a “search on Amazon” plug in, if you download it you’ll be able to start typing and instantly see Amazon results for that thing. Sure, my example sucks but the potential for this is pretty great and can only make an outstanding browser even better.
