Google shutting down Buzz service, now focusing on Google+
![]()
I do have to say that as a professional blogger I haven’t found Google Buzz entirely useful and also, I haven’t even found it practical. It makes sense to me then that Google has announced they are to shut down their Buzz service and focus squarely on Google+, their almost new out-of-the-box social network aimed at competing with Facebook.
All present content on Google Buzz will remain active across both Google Takeout and also on Google+ profiles, so for any bloggers out there who receive traffic from the Buzz service you should still get it. As for when Google is shutting down Buzz, it will be killing it off over the next week.
Google Buzz was first introduced in February 2010 and it’s main feature was that it added a news feed to Gmail accounts and Android smartphones.
