HP’s Palm Topaz Tablet appears online, leaks specs

Talks of a webOS powered tablet pc have been high ever since HP took over Palm, and now HP’s Palm Topaz Tablet has miraculously appeared online in the form of specs.
The HP Palm Topaz is set to have 9.7-inch XGA capacitive touchscreen which places it in the exact same market as Apple’s iPad and upcoming iPad 2. Rumours also suggest that there is no 7 inch model of this tablet device, although we’ll hit back with news should this transpire differently.

If these HP Palm Topaz specs are anything to go by then this tablet PC is well beyond the capabilities of Apple’s current tablet device the iPad. HP’s upcoming webOS powered device is to feature a Qualcomm MSM8660 processor which uses two Scorpion Cortex-A8 cores.
The Topaz is also to come with the Adreno 220 GPU with support for Open GL and Open GLES 2.0. The MSM8660 is also to include integrated GPS and Wi-FI. Feature wise were looking at a microUSB port, optional 3G, HP Beats audio with two speakers, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, up to 64GB removable storage and 512MB DDR2 memory on-board.
Currently, there is no set launch for the Topaz, but we’ll keep you updated.
