HSPA + USB Modems arrive in the UK

wireless technologyFrom the 7th April 2011, shipping has begun for Three UK’s new line of HSPA and USB modems. What is HSPA? HSPA is short for High Speed Packet Access and is a series of digital data services that are extremely high speed.

It uses GSM technology provided by global cellular carriers. HSPA is effective with a range of different types of devices, such as mobile phones, laptops and other portable devices. This is essentially means that mobile internet using dongles, is set to be faster than ever.

This will increase the connection speeds of promotional USB dongles by around 40%. A massive increase on other dongles that are currently available on the UK market.

The USB dongles will be available on numerous tariffs, varying from a 1GB right up to a 5GB package on a two year contract. Those Three customers that are currently paying for monthly internet acess are being given an option to upgrade for a one off payment of£ £59.99.

Not only are these dongles technologically impressive, they are more stylish than the previous versions, with a flip out USB and different colour options.
