Intel has announced the next variant of their Sandybridge desktop class CPU with the release of the i7-2700K. This quad-core beast comes with a  base clock speed of 3.5GHz and via Intel’s Turbo Boost it can be overclocked to a  scorching 3.9Ghz. While at base speed it is only 100Mhz faster then it’s predecessor, the Core i7-2600K, the new CPU does feature 8Mb of L3 cache as well as a 95W TDP.

The new processor will cost $332 so just $15 more than its predecessor.
